The textile and apparel industry can both exacerbate and alleviate sustainability concerns. Industries like fashion frequently have significant environmental impacts due to resource-intensive manufacturing, consumption, and waste generation. Nevertheless, an increasing recognition of the need for ecological practices in these fields motivates innovative experts to embrace environmentally friendly materials, energy-efficient technology, and ethical production techniques, thereby reducing their environmental footprint. This digital lab seeks to disseminate and discuss novel concepts and emerging technology related to the fast-developing sector, including business approaches and communication technologies, to investigate inventive solutions within the textile and apparel industry.
Chuanlan Liu is a Professor at Louisiana State University. Her expertise is in fashion entrepreneurship, fashion communication and branding, and retail merchandising. Dr. Liu’s research focuses on consumer experiences and well-being, sustainability, co-branding, and entrepreneurship in fashion. She has published research in SSCI journals and earned Google Scholar citations of 2,274.
Sibei Xia is an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University. Her expertise is in customized product development, fashion technologies, and fashion data mining. She has earned her Ph.D. in Textile Technology Management and her Master of Computer Science in Data Science track from North Carolina State University.
