    Designation
    Letters indicate the type of standard: TM = Test Method, LP = Laboratory Procedure, EP =听 Evaluation Procedure, M = Monograph. Each 秀色直播standard is designated by a number followed by the year of last technical revision. The last subsequent reaffirmation may appear in parentheses. A small letter 鈥渆鈥 indicates editorial changes, and a small letter 鈥渢鈥 indicates additional technical changes in the same year.

    Development
    听for information on the听research committees that develop and maintain 秀色直播standards.
    听for details on the 秀色直播test method development process

    are developed by research committees through research, testing, and discussion, often taking several years of work. Simplicity, reproducibility, applicability, cost to perform, and the time to perform are all important considerations. The content of many 秀色直播standards form the basis of equivalent ISO documents.

    Before a standard is published in the , it must be approved by the responsible research committee and the Technical Committee on Research (TCR). During the first three years, each new standard is reviewed annually, at which time, on recommendation of the research committee and approval by TCR, it may be reaffirmed, revised, or withdrawn. After the first three years, each standard is reviewed at least every five years. The historical record of these actions is published at the beginning or end of each method.

  • UV Calibration

    Spectrophotometer calibration is vital to accurate color measurement. And accurate measurement of textile color requires a textile standard.

    Program Description

    The fluorescent whitening agents (FWAs) used in textiles have different UV absorption properties than those used for plastics and other non-textile materials. Calibration with the 秀色直播textile standard improves inter-instrument agreement for textile measurements over calibration with the white plaque supplied by the spectrophotometer manufacturer.听听When retailer, brand, and manufacturer numbers agree, everyone can be more confident in approval decisions!

  • Laundering

    For many years, laundering conditions and washing machine specifications were included in various 秀色直播test methods. They were updated by the test method committees as needed.

    In 1984, machine parameters were moved to 秀色直播M6 and maintained by 秀色直播Research Committee RA88, Home Laundering Technology.听From 1984 to 2017, M6 was gradually expanded to include parameters for a wide range of home washing machines. There was no clear correlation among these machines. As technology changed, it became difficult for labs to obtain washers meeting the published specifications.

    In 2018, several research committees approved revised test methods with aligned, standard laundering conditions that are not expected to change for some time. Also in 2018, two new Laboratory Procedures were published with standard and alternate laundering conditions.听听and听听are complete laundering protocols that may be used in coordination with appearance evaluation, flammability preparation, or other procedures. 秀色直播LP1 replaces 秀色直播M6, but provides considerable additional information.
