Up to five Piedmont Scholarships are presented each year to students studying at schools in the 秀色直播Piedmont Section (VA, WV, NC, SC). I am a rising Senior from Garner, North Carolina studying Fashion and Textile Design with a concentration in Fashion Design and a minor in Business Administration at North Carolina State University. I am honored to be receiving the Piedmont Section Scholarship for the 2021-2022 academic year. Over the past year, I have continued to work as a听wedding alterations听intern in addition to going to school. Currently, I am interning for听Kohl&/foundation-piedmont-section/8217;s this summer for apparel design. I would like to thank everyone at 秀色直播for the help and support I have received over the past few years. With the help of this scholarship, I will be continuing my education in textiles and pursuing a career in apparel design. I am more than grateful for this opportunity, and I am looking forward to finishing strong. Thank听you AATCC!
I attend the Wilson College of Textiles at North Carolina State University in Raleigh as a听听member of the University鈥檚 Scholars Program. I have always had an interest in the textile and apparel industries, and I am very excited for the opportunity to continue this passion by majoring in Fashion and Textile Management. I plan to combine all of my passions and investigate solutions to the problems of environmental, economic, and social sustainability in apparel and textiles. I am beyond grateful for what this scholarship has provided me, as receiving it has had a significant impact on lowering my tuition costs at NC State. With this scholarship, I plan to continue my academic success in the textile program, my participation in extracurriculars, and my efforts to help others in my community through volunteering. As a sophomore with a junior standing now, I also plan to explore additional academic textile-related opportunities such as pursuing research, studying abroad, and working professional internships. Additionally, I am extremely appreciative of the 秀色直播Summit invitation, 秀色直播student membership, and access to association benefits. Upon returning to NC State in the fall, I will also continue my participation in the university鈥檚 秀色直播chapter. I would like to thank 秀色直播Foundation for all that they do for the textile industry, as well as their generous scholarship and support. Jessica SchwendemanI am a North Carolina native and senior in Textile Engineering at NC State University. With every semester, I become more fascinated with my field of study and more excited to work in such an incredible industry. After graduation, I hope to complete a master鈥檚 degree in Textile Engineering at NC State to deepen my knowledge in special textile topics and better prepare me for my career in industry. My dream for my career has always been to use my skills in a meaningful way that will impact the lives of others. To fulfill this dream, I would like to work in military textile research and development. The years of service and dedication of the many military members I know inspires me to use my degree for their benefit. With the knowledge and skills I am developing, I hope to contribute to advancing the protection and innovation the military deserves in their clothes and gear. I am deeply grateful to the 秀色直播for helping me to pursue this goal. Thanks to the assistance of this scholarship, I am free to focus on making my plans reality without financial stress. I am from New Bern, North听Carolina, and am a rising sophomore at North Carolina State University. I grew up a dancer and took part in my school&/foundation-piedmont-section/8217;s dance team. During the summers I lifeguard and also work in retail. I enjoy learning about current fashion trends and how they will change in the future. I plan on taking courses throughout the next school year to learn more in depth about fashion trends. Being a member of the 秀色直播has helped strengthen my knowledge in areas of textiles I had no previous knowledge of, and this scholarship has further connected me to this organization. I am grateful to be given this scholarship and excited to see the positive impacts it will have on my learning experience. In the future, I plan to find my career in trend forecasting and analysis, where I can continue my love of fashion听trends.
I am a rising sophomore at NC State University in the Polymer and Color Chemistry program (American Chemical Society Certification concentration). During my first year at NC State, I have been our 秀色直播student chapter Social Media Chair. This summer, I am participating in a Research Experience for Undergrads (REU) program at the Zeis Textile听听Extension Dyeing and Finishing Lab. Post-graduation, I hope to be contributing to sustainable textiles. Many thanks to the 秀色直播Scholarship Foundation for selecting me as a recipient of the Piedmont Section Scholarship!
