RISE & C2C Interest Group Meeting: All Ðãɫֱ²¥ Ðãɫֱ²¥& Testing

In this combined RISE and C2C Interest Group meeting, we will discuss the importance of testing and performance requirements. We will walk you through how your Ðãɫֱ²¥membership provides resources for you to meet textile testing standards.

  • Why testing and performance standards are critical for today’s textile products
  • What types of testing help you boost quality, reliability, and consistency
  • How to make the most of your Ðãɫֱ²¥membership to support your testing goals

Who should attend:

  • Individual members who want to learn about textile testing and improve textile test results
  • Corporate members who want to send teams to get more involved with AATCC
  • Student members participating in the C2C Competition

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the value of textile testing and a roadmap for using your Ðãɫֱ²¥membership resources.

Ðãɫֱ²¥ the Speakers: 

Gregg Woodcock is the Executive Director of the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists.  Woodcock is a graduate of Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science as well as the Institute of Textile Technology. He started at Burlington Industries in the knitted fabrics division and was with Hanesbrands Inc (including predecessors Sara Lee Knit Products and National Textiles), his previous role was Sr. Manager, Product Quality/Safety at Hanesbrands Inc.

 

 

 

Jessica Brooks, RISE Interest Group Chair, is an accomplished colorist with over 15 years in the textile industry, currently working at W. L. Gore & Associates since 2021. Her prior roles at Darlington Fabrics & Brookwood Companies further enriched her expertise in color science and textile applications. In addition to her professional role, Jessica serves as the chair of the Ðãɫֱ²¥RISE Interest Group, president of the Delaware Valley section, and a member of the Ðãɫֱ²¥board of directors. She also shares her knowledge as adjunct faculty at Thomas Jefferson University, teaching the color, dyeing and finishing course.

 

 

 

Monét Freeman, RISE Interest Group Vice-Chair, serves as a Physical Testing Specialist at the Textile Technology Center at Gaston College, with six years of professional experience steering all facets of manufacturing, quality and testing, operations management, and coordinating industry training. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Freeman completed her studies in Textile Technology at North Carolina State University’s Wilson College of Textiles. Freeman is a strong believer that, no matter what, there is always room for improvement and perfecting your craft. Her interest in the Rising Professionals Interest Group stems from her own personal experience of not feeling fully equipped with the tools for career development or networking right out of school.

 

 

Chris Hipps, Chair of the Concept to Consumer Interest Group, is the Global Director of the Color Management business at Archroma. He has been with Archroma since 2014. Prior to this, from 1998 to 2014, he was with Datacolor, Oxco, and CAE Simuflite in various technical, sales, and marketing positions. Beginning his career as a process engineer and shift dyeing manager at Dixie Yarns’ Caroknit division, he graduated from NC State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Science and then earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Hipps has been a member of Ðãɫֱ²¥since 1992.
